Two months. At least two months and I finally hear about what's been going on in the Hyuuga Clan. This is not something I want to go on my record as a member of the Intelligence department.

The good news is come Friday the last of the medication will be for sure out of my system and I can drink again. Kiba, we'll schedule something, although maybe for next week. (I need to talk to you anyway.) And you too, Aki, since I know you've been wanting to celebrate with me.

Before this news slips out and I get scolded for not being the first to say it:
I've been reinstated to full jounin privileges again. Until I'm fully done healing, I'm just being put back to desk work, so it really is going to be feeling like old times again. Except...there's a LOT of desk work. I don't think I've ever seen it backed up this much. And don't Izume and Kotsuki handle some of these things...?
Anyway. Desk work until I've fully recovered. After that, it's back to field work, which includes resuming some of the advanced training I started my former team on.
Kiba, Hinaji, Hoshino, I expect you to be ready.

The recovery's been going well, mostly just physical therapy now and some painkillers. Still can't mix it with alcohol yet, but that's not such a big deal. I feel oddly good about all I've been through. Not that it was my best mission almost my last in fact, but it was the first time I felt so useful in a while. Maybe that's why.
Aki, I heard you stuffed Ibiki in a closet. I haven't had a chance yet to ask you if that was true. ...Is it?

It's gotten very quiet around here all of a sudden. I've been called on a few more patrol shifts due to the number in the gala attendees. ...All the shifts nobody really wants of course, but hey, not like I've got much else to spend my time on.
To be honest, with the recent increase of pets over the past year, I kind of thought someone might ask me to look after one of theirs for them while they were gone, but... Well, guess those things just got taken care of.
Finally an inescapable reason for Asuka to dress up and I miss it. (Kakami too for that matter. Those two always seemed to have an allergy towards skirts or anything resembling.) Somebody better be taking pictures.

Prisons are not meant to be welcoming, cheerful, or even very comfortable. I must say that Konoha's jails have successfully met all of these requirements. The cold gruel is a nice extra touch.
...But being in a cell is easier to endure when you don't feel at all connected to the people outside of it.

I washed off what blood I could in the small basin provided, but I still need a change of clothes. Wonder what it's going to take to get those.
